Bobby's Bio

Goepfert is currently in his 2nd year as Assistant Coach/Goalie Coach with the Cedar Rapids Roughriders in the USHL.

Goepfert was drafted in the sixth round of the 2002 NHL draft by the Pittsburgh Penguins. Bobby completed a nine-year professional career where he spent time in the American Hockey League, overseas in DEL (Germany), and in the East Coast Hockey League.

Prior to his extensive professional playing career, Goepfert started his collegiate career at Providence College before he eventually transferred to St. Cloud State University. He was recognized as an All-American following both his Junior and Senior seasons at St. Cloud; and a Hobey Baker top ten finalists following his 2006-2007 collegiate campaign.

In 2002-2003, Goepfert represented the United States in the World Junior Championships, where he earned top save percentage for the tournament (.937). Goepfert spent two seasons in the USHL for the Cedar Rapids Roughriders. In 2001-2002, he was selected as the USHL Player of the Year, as the USHL Goaltender of the Year, and as a member of the USHL First All-Star team.
