Danny was the Captain of the London Knights (Ontario Hockey League) in 2005, which began the season with a Canadian Hockey League Record 31-Game-Unbeaten Streak.  During the season Syvret was selected to represent Canada at the World Junior Championship, eventually winning gold in Grand Forks, ND vs a star-studded Russian team headlined by Ovechkin and Malkin.  Syvret has the honor of being credited with the Game Winning Goal in the Gold Medal Game.  The intelligent, smooth-skating defenseman returned to London to cap off the season defeating Sidney Crosby in the Memorial Cup Championship.  The 2005 London Knights have since been named Team of the Century, the greatest junior hockey team in the league’s over 100-year existence.  The freshly minted CHL Defenseman of the Year was selected by the Edmonton Oilers in the NHL Draft.  Syvret stepped into the Oilers lineup in his first professional season, eventually falling short in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals to Carolina Hurricanes.  Danny was able to net his first NHL goal in the 2010 Winter Classic played at Fenway Park in Boston, as a member of the Philadelphia Flyers.  Syvret was considered an undersized defenseman in the era in which he played with smooth skating abilities, great vision, strong leadership qualities, and a hockey IQ among the elite to play the position.

Syvret has a tactical mind for the game, his innovative systems and ability to educate and connect to others has helped him gain success as both a coach and mentor.  Danny is a wealth of knowledge aiming to assist coaches in improving their team’s overall performance and growth and looking forward to passing on his hockey intelligence to the women and men playing this ever-evolving sport.
