Evan joins us with a winning pedigree, compiling 6 championships throughout his playing career.  He most recently moved to Dallas, TX upon wrapping up his professional playing career.  He played his final season for the Guildford Flames of the EIHL in the United Kingdom, helping the team win the Patton Conference Championship.  Prior to playing across the pond in Europe, he played professionally for the Iowa Wild (AHL) and the Rapid City Rush (ECHL).

A graduate from the University of Denver (2013-2017), Evan helped lead the Pioneers to a National Championship in 2017 as an assistant captain.  Additionally, he won the NCHC Conference Championship during the conferences inaugural season as well as the Penrose Cup (regular-season champion) during his collegiate career.  Furthermore, he was a 4x recipient of Academic All-Conference Honors.

Prior to attending college, Evan played 2 seasons of junior hockey.  In his first season, he played for the Alaska Avalanche (NAHL) where he earned NAHL All-Rookie Second Team Honors.  Following, he played for the Dubuque Fighting Saints (USHL) where he was an Anderson and Clark Cup Champion.

Evan had the privilege to learn from and play for one of the game’s best hockey minds, Jim Montgomery, for 5 years (junior and college) who quickly climbed the latter to the NHL.

Evan recently entered the coaching realm, joining the Dallas Stars Off-Campus P.E. Program as a skills coach.

Who should work with Evan?

My goal is to help players at the U16, U18 and junior level with aspirations of playing NCAA Division I college hockey. My path consisted of playing in the NAHL, USHL, NCAA Division I, and professionally. I believe it is one of the best routes to take not only from a hockey development standpoint, but in terms of getting an education, earning your degree, growing as a person, and becoming the player you aspire to be.

Testimonials for Evan Janssen

Testimonial for: EVAN JANSSEN

I played with Evan [Janny] for four years. He was one of the smartest players I have come across during my career. He seemed to always be in the right spot, positionally, and knew where everyone else was supposed to be at any given moment.
