Testimonials for Nathan Craze

Testimonial for: Nathan Craze

I’ve worked with Nathan while I was playing pro hockey over in Europe. Not only did he play a significant role in developing me as a goalie on the ice, but he also was a mentor to me off the ice, personally and professionally. My greatest take away from my work with Nathan was his ability to enhance my overall performance where I felt more consistent and confident in my game, he provided me with the tools I needed to succeed, through video analysis providing consistent feedback. His attention to detail when breaking down even the smallest elements is amazing. Our weekly video sessions gave me a great perspective on how I should be making adjustments and implementing them into my game to get a competitive advantage. I can’t recommend Nathan enough to any goalie looking to take their game to the next level.

Nathan has great work ethic and is very easy to work with. Nathan worked very well as out team goaltending coach, I really liked how he would communicate effectively and was a tremendous help with our goalies throughout the development process. Nathan did a great job with video analysis, he would cut game tape and highlight areas each goalie did well and areas they could work on, break down the video into great detail to make their game more efficient and effective. Nathan is passionate about developing goaltenders and would recommend any driven goaltender to work with him.

Mike Lysyj Bio

  • WHL Assistant Coach (Everett Silvertips)
  • NCAA Assistant Coach (Suny Fredonia)
  • USA Hockey's New England District Instructor
  • USA Hockey Festival Evaluator
  • ECHL Forward (Orlando Solar Bears)
  • NCAA Forward (Suny Cortland)

Mike Lysyj enters his second season as assistant coach with the Everett Silvertips.

The native of Hillsborough, N.J. helped guide the Silvertips to a 46-13-3-1 record in the Western Hockey League before the cancellation of the season and playoffs. The Silvertips season would finish the season 2nd in the U.S. Division and 2nd overall in the WHL standings.

The Silvertips accumulated four players who scored 20 goals or more, saw Bryce Kindopp become the first Silvertip to score 40 goals in a season since 2013-14, and led the entire WHL in power play percentage (27.5) and fewest goals allowed per game (2.2).

The Silvertips also ranked third in the league in goal differential (+86), led the league in road wins (21), and were second in home wins (25).

By the final week of the WHL regular season, the Silvertips saw all three 20-year old category players sign entry level contracts with National Hockey League clubs: Kindopp (Anaheim), defenseman Wyatte Wylie (Philadelphia), and defenseman Jake Christiansen (Columbus). In addition, four Silvertips - forwards Gage Goncalves and Michal Gut, and defensemen Kasper Puutio and Ronan Seeley have been listed by NHL Central Scouting in their final ranking ahead of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.

Goaltender Dustin Wolf earned his second consecutive WHL Western Conference Goaltender of the Year award after being selected by the Calgary Flames in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, while Wolf was named WHL First Team All-Star and Christiansen and Kindopp were named Second Team All-Stars, all in the Western Conference.

Silvertips players also earned international competition opportunities with Wolf named to Team USA at the 2020 IIHF World Juniors, and defenseman Olen Zellweger heading to Team Canada Red for the 2019 World U17 Hockey Challenge.

Previously, Lysyj, 30 (11/30/1988), spent the 2018-2019 season on the bench as assistant coach for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (NCAA), serving with skill development on and off the ice. Prior, Lysyj spent four years as assistant coach at SUNY Fredonia (NCAA), where he was responsible for recruiting and scouting across the United States and Canada, and assisted with film breakdown, on-ice skill development, and hockey operations administration. In 2017-18, he helped guide the Blue Devils to a 9-3-3 mark on home ice and an appearance in the SUNYAC title game for the first time in seven years, upsetting national powers Plattsburgh State and Oswego in the conference tournament.

Carrying additional experience as an instructor with USA Hockey’s New England District, a USA Hockey Festival Evaluator (Atlantic & Southeast District), and with Pro Ambitions Inc. in Dedham, Mass., the former forward made his pro debut with an assist in six games with the Orlando Solar Bears (ECHL) in 2012-13 and recorded 29 games split between Peoria and Mississippi (SPHL) in 2013-14. Lysyj spent all four seasons of his collegiate career with SUNY Cortland, registering 77 points (39g-38a) in 96 games and led the Red Dragons with 33 points (18g-15a) in 25 games as a 2012-13 senior.

At SUNY Cortland, Lysyj graduated with his B.A. degree in Kinesiology (coaching concentration) in 2013 and earned his M.S. degree in Sports Management & Exercise Science in 2017 at SUNY Fredonia.

  • NHL (Detroit Red Wings)

Matt Lorito is an elite offensive playmaker. His successes have come from his great hockey IQ, smooth skating ability and high end skill set. He has a great understanding of how to produce offense, as well as excellent habits that have allowed him to succeed at every level. Matt’s journey to professional hockey was not an easy one. He is what most would call a late bloomer. He was cut from numerous minor hockey and Junior teams before finally making a Junior B team after graduating high school.

From there he went on to play two seasons in Junior A before finally getting recruited by NCAA schools. After 4 years at Brown University, the only professional offer he had was an AHL contract with the Albany Devils. After a great rookie year in the AHL, he signed a two year NHL Contract with the Detroit Red Wings and helped the Grand Rapids Griffins capture a Calder Cup 2017. He lead the Griffins in scoring and was also named to the AHL All-Star game in each of his two seasons in Grand Rapids. He also appeared in two games for the Red Wings, recording one assist.

From there he went on to sign a one-way NHL contract with the New York Islanders. While his journey is still ongoing, he really enjoys studying the game and helping younger players develop.

Diana's Bio

Diana’s skating career began in figure skates as a Gold Medalist in Figures, Free Style, Dance and Free Dance) and on to the Ice Capades, before she began teaching figure skating. She then traded in the figure skates for hockey skates and made the transition teaching hockey over 25+ years ago. She began when Brian Burke approached her and spoke about her style of teaching and attention to detail and the need for hockey players to be taught proper mechanics. He then introduced Diana to Blake Dunlop (Blues Alumnus) who had her join his staff for his summer hockey program.

From that point forward, Diana began to help players of all abilities and ages elevate their game by developing their skating skills and gaining confidence on the ice. Her years of experience enables her to tweak small movements that can make big changes. She continues to challenge herself to find new ways to help her students move more efficiently while gaining the control and speed needed to keep up with a constantly evolving game. As the game evolves, Diana helps her students adjust to the needs of the game to become faster, quicker and stronger.

Her list of clients range from players in the NHL, AHL, KHL, ECHL, OHL, USHL, NAHL and Collegiate levels plus officials in the NHL, USHL and the NAHL.
